About Dr. Kjorlien

Originally from Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Dr. Tristyn Kjorlien developed a passion for health and performance through years of competitive ice hockey. Working with skilled coaches, trainers, and healthcare professionals throughout his athletic career sparked his interest in physical medicine and ultimately led him to pursue a career helping others recover from injury and perform at their best.

Dr. Kjorlien began working as a personal trainer at 18 years old before completing a Bachelor of Human Kinetics with a focus in Exercise Physiology at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. He later earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon.

His clinical approach combines evidence-informed manual therapy, rehabilitation, exercise, and strength and conditioning principles to help patients recover from injury, reduce symptoms, and return to the activities they enjoy.

Dr. Kjorlien has a particular interest in concussion rehabilitation, post-concussion syndrome, and functional neurology. This interest is rooted in his own experience navigating the challenges of persistent post-concussion symptoms following multiple sports-related concussions. That experience gave him a firsthand understanding of how disruptive brain injury can be and inspired him to develop a deeper interest in concussion care and help others navigate their own recovery.

His approach to concussion rehabilitation is individualized and function-focused, incorporating movement assessment, exercise, rehabilitation, and neurologic strategies to address the unique needs and goals of each patient. He also maintains a strong interest in sports rehabilitation, return-to-sport programming, and performance-focused care.

Outside the clinic, you'll find Tristyn trail running, hiking, golfing, and exploring Vancouver with his Golden Retriever, Dewey. He can also frequently be found searching for the city's best espresso.
